Tenants Information

Fees

A holding deposit of £150.00 is payable to secure a property. The fee is refundable. If a tenant proceeds to move into a property the holding fee would form part of the deposit.

How much is the deposit?

A deposit of £400.00 is payable prior to moving into a property. The deposit is refundable at the end of the tenancy subject to the rent being paid and the property remaining in good condition. The deposit is protected during the tenancy by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.

Documents

Landlords and agents will want to confirm your identity, immigration status, credit history and possibly employment status.

Do you have the right to rent in the UK?

Landlords in England must check that all people aged 18 or over have the right to rent before the start date of the tenancy agreement. There are three types of right to rent checks: a manual document-based check, a check using Identity Verification Technology via the services of an identity service provider, or a check via the Home Office online checking service. Your landlord can’t insist which option you choose but not everyone can use the online service.
